What's New!?
Toree just closed the world premiere of Fish at Theatre Row, written by Kia Corthron and directed by Adrienne Williams!
About Toree
Toree just finished a gut-wrenching production of Fish, written by Kia Corthron and directed by Adrienne Williams. The show touched on the cracks and faults of the education system, and the people who fall through them. Last year, Toree was touring across the United States with The Acting Company in two fast-moving productions: Romeo and Juliet, in which she played the 13 year old bride, and an exciting adaptation of The Three Musketeers by Kirsten Childs. Honored to be a part of 48 Hrs in...Harlem of 2023 where she was in a Julienne Hairston piece directed by Christopher D. Betts. Toree played Tamara in the world premiere of ABCD by May Treuhaft-Ali at Barrington Stage. She played Hamlet in one of Shakespeare's fiery plays, directed by Tamilla Woodard, with Brave New World Rep in Brooklyn, NY. If you are a Netflix-er, you may have caught a glimpse of Toree in Season 2 of Luke Cage, and if you like bloodsucking creatures, be sure to check her out in Vampires vs the Bronx, written and directed by Oz Rodriguez! Toree spent some time in Alabama, when Alabama Shakespeare Festival partnered with the Equal Justice Initiative for a timely production of Pipeline by Dominique Morisseau, directed by Ron OJ Parson. That was her second stay in Montgomery, as she was there earlier that year completing a Shakespeare Fellowship with the theatre. Back in New York, Toree had the honor of understudying the role of Keisha in the groundbreaking play Fairview, written by Jackie Sibblies Drury and directed by Sarah Benson under Soho Rep.
Toree Elayne Alexandre was born in Bronxville and raised between NY, NJ, Nottingham, England, and South Florida. She attended Dreyfoos School of the Arts and received her B.F.A. in Acting with a Musical Theatre minor from Point Park University. Toree is vegan, loves her family fiercely, waters her plants regularly, and if she's not in the kitchen listening to some sick tunes whipping up a new concoction to devour, she is whipping up some shea butter to keep her peeps moisturized! Peace and love to all beings.
